Tilt or touch: which racing control actually wins?
Every arcade racer asks you the same question at the start: tilt or touch. I've gone back and forth for years, so I sat down and ran the same set of tracks with both to figure out what I actually prefer.
Tilt wins on flow. When the track is all long sweeping curves, tilting the phone feels natural and lets you make tiny corrections you'd struggle to hit with buttons. The downside is you need a stable spot to sit — try it standing on a train and you'll understand.
Touch wins on precision and consistency. Tight hairpins and sudden chicanes are easier when a button either is or isn't pressed. It's also the only sane option if you're playing somewhere bumpy.
My honest take: use tilt at home on the couch, use touch everywhere else. And whatever you pick, spend two minutes in the settings adjusting sensitivity. Most people never touch it and then complain the controls feel off.
